Who is responsible for the CE marking of machinery and installations?

09.12.2015

The responsibility for placing machinery and installations on the market and/or put them in use with a CE marking, lies with the manufacturer or to the importer of the machinery/installation.

The manufacturer or the importer is basically responsible for the certification of machineries and installations and for ensuring the conformity of the machinery/installation with the essential safety requirements (of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EU, in particular). Furthermore, the manufacturer or the importer compiles technical documentation, containing various relevant documents for the purpose of determining the conformity of the machinery (e.g., by market surveillance authorities).

Certification Company will be able to carry out the complete conformity assessment procedure on behalf of your company, in accordance with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EU (and the related CE Directives). It will also be possible to have certain partial aspects of the conformity assessment procedure carried out (e.g., a risk analyses).
